Summer Job Opportunity: AmeriCorps VISTA
This summer, ORCC will once again be hosting Summer AmeriCorps VISTA Members in Multnomah County. This is a great way for college students to gain experience in the education and nonprofit sector while earning money for school!
We are looking for 26 VISTA Members to serve from June 18th – August 12th. They’ll serve with community organizations or school districts to prepare rising ninth graders for a successful transition to high school through tutoring, volunteer management, and program coordination. VISTAs receive a $450 living stipend every two weeks during service and a $1,174 education award that can help pay for school or their qualified education loans!
Recruitment fairs will be held Monday, April 14th from 5-6:30pm at Concordia University andWednesday, April 16th from 5-6:30pm at Warner Pacific College. The fairs will give students a chance to meet the sites, ask questions, and complete a first interview with ORCC. Interested students can click here to learn more and register!
ORCC is also looking for students to join our 2014-2015 Student Advisory Board. The SAB convenes a team of students who work together to advise ORCC and engage their campuses and communities to make a powerful statewide impact.
We are specifically contacting you because we believe you might know students who would be particularly interested! Please help us promote these programs and encourage students to get involved.
Lastly, don’t forget ORCC is hosting our annual fundraiser, A Night In Serve-Landia, on Thursday, April 24th. Come join us for a wonderful evening of celebration, food, and festivities all in support of ORCC’s programs! Can’t make it? Bid on one of our fantastic silent auction items now – you don’t have to be present to win!
