October 13 – Farmer Mixer Event
We are seeking volunteers to help with child care and clean-up for our fall Farmer Mixer event. This event brings together Latino growers, established area farmers, and community garden participants for small workshops and a potluck dinner. This workshop is focused on food preservation. We are seeking volunteers for childcare from 5-8:00pm and clean-up from 8-8:30pm. Food Rescue students are also invited to attend workshops and meet local growers.
October 18 – La Esperanza Farm Work Day
Join volunteers from the community and participants in Adelante Mujeres programs for a work day on the farm from 9:00am-2:30pm. Includes a potluck lunch. (No experience necessary. Spanish skills a plus, but not a must.)
For all opportunities with Adelante Mujeres, it is a good time to practice Spanish, learn new skills, and meet people. No Spanish skills are required for any event. We don’t want people to turn away from an opportunity because they perceive a language barrier.
Interested volunteers should contact Caitlin Matthews at firstname.lastname@example.org
