Student Advisors To Appointed Boards of Forest Grove Position!

SEEKING STUDENTS TO SERVE AS STUDENT ADVISORS TO VARIOUS FOREST GROVE CITY COUNCIL APPOINTED BOARDS, COMMITTEES, AND COMMISSIONS

Mayor Peter Truax and City Council welcome Pacific University students to Forest Grove

and personally invite students to consider serving as a Student Advisor on City of Forest Grove boards, committees, and commissions. Whether students are interested in economic development, library programs, historical preservation, tree preservation, parks and recreational activities, public safety or citizen involvement, the City of Forest Grove has opportunities for students to volunteer their time and talents. Each board is unique in its size, meeting schedule, and specific function; however, the overall mission is the same: to make Forest Grove, “A Place Where Families and Business Thrive”.

By serving as a student advisor on a board, committee, or commission, students get the opportunity to share their views and ideas on a variety of community-related issues firsthand with the Mayor and City Council and other City representatives.

Students will receive an excellent opportunity to make a positive impact in Forest Grove by getting involved in various City programs and participating in diverse, high-profile community projects and events. More importantly, we hope students will learn and appreciate the importance of civic responsibility and involvement.

Students must commit to approximately one to two hours per month for meetings and activities. Students serve a one-year term with an opportunity to extend the term if requested.

Enrollment is limited; students will be interviewed by the Mayor and City Council and be selected based on their application questions, interview, and willingness to serve.
