Help the City of Forest Grove Count trail users!

Volunteers will work with the City of Forest Grove to complete a Metro trail counting project, counting the number of users along specified paths or trails on specified days/times. The week of counting is Sept. 10th – 15th; we plan to count for 2-3 hours the morning of September 15th and for 2-3 hours at least one weekday evening prior to that (possibly two weekday evenings). Volunteers do not need to serve in all counting sessions to participate (but should serve in at least one session).  Counting trail users will inform City and Metro planners about levels of use of specified trails/paths. This will help them plan for the future regarding trails/paths.

Ideally, volunteers will also attend a training in advance, to be held on September 6th, 6:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., at the City of Forest Grove Community Auditorium, (1915 Main St. Forest Grove, OR); however, attending the training is not necessary in order to participate, as trained volunteers will be on hand at each counting session to orient and train new volunteers.
